A little about FretSteps
One useful task, made a little easier.
FretSteps is a small, independent practice tool from Draconova for guitar learners. It focuses on naming positions on a six-string guitar in standard tuning. Questions are generated from the chromatic pitch sequence, with no song recordings or copyrighted notation library. Progress and missed positions are kept on your device.
What this version does
Learn guitar fretboard notes with short interactive drills, a daily challenge and a local mistake review. Standard tuning, frets 0–12, no account required.
What to keep in mind
This trainer uses standard tuning only, with no capo, from open strings through fret 12. It teaches note names, not physical technique or listening assessment. The optional sound is a synthesized reference tone, not a recording of a guitar.
Built as a small public experiment
